Meet the dentists who call Saint Peter home

I'll be honest, I never planned to write a blog. But when you're introducing yourself to a community that's meant so much to my family for so long, it feels pretty natural.

Most people don't know this, but I've been a patient at Riverside Dental Care my entire life. My mom was a patient here her whole life too. So when I say this practice has deep roots in Saint Peter, I mean that personally. I grew up sitting in these chairs, watching my dentist work, and asking more questions than he probably expected. He never seemed to mind. He walked me through every step of every procedure, and somewhere along the way I realized that I want to do this. I want to be the person who makes someone feel that comfortable even in a dental chair.

My partner in this practice, Dr. Bethany Whittier, has her own neighborhood story. She grew up right here in Saint Peter and found her way to dentistry after a traumatic accident to her front teeth in high school. The dentist who fixed them came in over his lunch hour to take care of her. And that kind of quiet, unhurried kindness stayed with her and it's a huge part of the reason she does what she does, and how she does it so well. 

Between the two of us, we have over 19 years of experience, strong Minnesota roots, and a shared belief that dentistry should feel personal, not transactional.

A practice that feels like a familiar place

One of the things I'm most proud of at Riverside is the atmosphere. It's hard to describe if you haven't experienced it, but our patients usually say something like — it just feels different here. Warmer. More like a place you actually know.

That's intentional. We're the longest established practice in Saint Peter, and we've worked hard to maintain the kind of environment where families feel comfortable coming back year after year. We have a kids play area for the little ones, a team that genuinely enjoys being here, and a front desk that answers the phone like they're happy to hear from you — because they are.

We serve Saint Peter and the surrounding rural communities, and we understand that for a lot of our patients, coming to the dentist means clearing your schedule and making a trip. Same-day crowns are one of them. We're the only office in Saint Peter with an in-house crown mill, and combined with the latest intraoral scanning technology, that means we can design, mill, and place your crown in a single appointment. No temporary crown to worry about. No second trip. You come in with a problem and you leave with it solved — the same day.

We also offer Invisalign, dental implant restorations, and a full range of cosmetic services for patients who want to improve the way their smile looks and feels. Dr. Whittier has a particular passion for anterior crowns and composite restorations — work that blends function and aesthetics in a way that can genuinely change how someone feels about their smile.

And of course, preventive care is the foundation of everything we do. Regular cleanings and exams are how we catch small problems before they become big ones. We always tell our patients — the visits you keep are the ones that save you time, money, and discomfort down the road.
