Get to know Bethany Whittier, DDS
Dr. Bethany Whittier grew up right here in Saint Peter, so when she says she cares about this community, she means it. Her path to dentistry began with a personal experience — a traumatic accident to her front teeth in high school, and a dentist who fixed them over his lunch hour without hesitation. That kind of quiet, unhurried kindness left a mark on her. It shaped the way she thinks about this profession and the difference it can make in someone's life.
Dr. Whittier knew early on that she wanted to work in healthcare. That experience helped her find exactly where she belonged. She values the way dentistry can restore not just a smile, but a person's confidence and comfort in their own skin. Her approach to care reflects that warm, reassuring, and always focused on the patient in front of her.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and her dental degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. With 11 years of experience and memberships in both the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association, she brings a depth of knowledge matched by a genuine love for her work.
Her favorite services, anterior crowns, Invisalign, and composite restorations, reflect her belief that great dentistry blends function with confidence. Get to know Kyle Rasmussen, DDS
Dr. Rasmussen didn't just choose Riverside Dental Care — he grew up here. He's been a patient at this practice his whole life, just like his mother before him. That kind of deep familiarity gives him a perspective on this practice that no resume can fully capture.
As a kid, he was the one in the family who always seemed to be getting cavities. But rather than dreading those visits, he found himself getting curious. His dentist took the time to walk him through every step of every procedure, and over time that curiosity turned into a calling. He chose dentistry because someone showed him it could be genuinely interesting — even fun. He's never forgotten that.
Dr. Rasmussen completed both his undergraduate education and dental school at the University of Minnesota. He has been practicing for eight years and is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association.
He especially enjoys anterior and esthetic zone composite restorations, Botox, and same-day crowns — treatments that let him help patients see real, meaningful improvements in how they look and feel. Patients consistently describe his approach as clear, thoughtful, and easy to trust. He knows what it's like to sit in that chair, and he brings that understanding with him every single day.
