Complete Family Dentistry

Tooth decay, bad breath, and gum disease don't have to be a way of life. We partner with our patients to prevent and defend against these common dental problems. Dr. Lund, Dr. Kjellgren, and our hygienists can help you maintain a natural smile that can last you until your golden years. Call Riverside Dental Care or visit Riverside Dental Care in St. Peter, MN with any questions you may have.

Common dental problems include:

Tooth decay

In the course of their lives, 90% of adults have experienced some level of tooth decay. We help defend your teeth against damaging plaque and bacteria with regular cleanings, proper home care, and proactive treatments. We may also recommend dental sealants (anticavity coatings) or fluoride supplements (tooth-strengthening mineral) to provide an extra measure of prevention and protection.

Bad breath (halitosis)

Bad breath is embarrassing, but we can help you control it! Bad breath often comes from poor oral hygiene, such as not flossing regularly. While there is no instant cure for bad breath, you can fight against it with some extra time spent at your sink and regular dental cleanings. Don't ignore bad breath! Oftentimes, it is a sign of early-stage gum disease, so visit our office for an exam and further instructions to protect your oral health.

Gum disease

It is never too early to prevent this common condition from stealing your smile. Gum disease is the number one cause of adult tooth loss, and recent studies have confirmed that patients with gum disease are twice as likely to develop heart disease, diabetes, and other systemic illnesses. We encourage brushing, flossing, and regular dental exams and cleanings as your best defense against this problem.

Other services include:
  • Screening for oral cancer
  • Alleviating headaches and jaw tension (bruxism / grinding)
  • Preventing sports-related injuries (mouthguards)
Pediatric care

Let us help your children learn the importance of optimal oral health from a young age. It is recommended by the ADA that children begin seeing a dentist no later than age one. We recommend bringing your child with you to your dental visits so that we can begin creating positive associations with dental visits for your young child. These positive associations will carry into their adult years and will shape the future of their dental care. We also educate children on home care, examine their teeth, and provide cavity-preventing treatments.
